Mitch Albom

A few weeks ago, I was given a Kindle, for Mother's Day. Since then, I have been obsessed with reading a wide variety of books, many I had been meaning to read but simply hadn't gotten the chance. My local library has an awesome e-book availability, and I've enjoyed the books I've been able to read.

Here are some quotes I found personally inspiring or thought provoking from Have a Little Faith: A True Story.

"My thoughts are not your thoughts Neither are your ways my ways For as the heavens are higher than the earth So are my ways higher than your way And my thoughts higher than your thoughts"

"Many great minds have set out to disprove God's existence. Sometimes, they retreat to the opposite view. C. S. Lewis, who wrote so eloquently of faith, initially wrestled with the very concept of God and called himself "the most dejected and reluctant convert in all of England." Louis Pasteur, the great scientist, tried to disprove a divine existence through facts and research; in the end, the grand design of man convinced him otherwise."

"It is far more comforting to think God listened and said no, than to think that nobody's out there."

"Thank you, Lord, for returning my soul to me." When you start that way, the rest of the day is a bonus."

"What profits a man if he gains the whole world, but loses his soul?"

"But it's not me against the other guy. It's God measuring you against you."

InCourage-book club

http://www.incourage.me/category/bloom

And they update Facebook pretty regularly.

I have participated in a few of these and really like them. I don't always get to watch the videos, but I enjoy reading the dialogue and finding out about books I might not normally have heard about through the usual channels.

This month's book is called Bread and Wine and I'm curious to read it. I found out about Bloom through Angie Smith's blog (who I've already stated, her blog was pretty instrumental in helping me renew my faith) and her friend Jessica Turner who runs The Mom Creative. I will be blogging about my thoughts on this book as the book club goes on I think! Might also blog about other Christian books I am currently reading. I think it will be interesting because there are recipes interlaced within the book.

Also, this book, Beyond Ordinary: When a Good Marriage Just Isn't Good Enough is still free on Amazon. It's a very questionable and I can see being, highly controversial read but I am looking forward to reading it.

How I Know My Wife Married the Wrong Person

Angie Smith
I started reading her blog when it was only 10 pages long, before she even considered writing a book, before she started touring the world, and it was called Audrey Caroline-after her daughter who passed away shortly after birth. It was one of the biggest motivators in bringing my faith back to me. If she could remain faithful, and love life, even with doubts and questions, why couldn't I?

I will be updating this blog soon with my story. I will probably break it up to one or two a week for however long it takes to explain. :)
